Description

Designed for Doubles

The tech in the patented* Elite Surge™ 3.0 handles improves your spin control and efficiency, helping you realize instant gains in your double under speed and consistency. The 3rd generation handles on this jump rope include a new ball bearing design for a smoother spin, as well as an adjustable screw built into the head for easy resizing.

  • Dual-ball bearing aluminum handles achieve 6-7 jumps a second
  • Designed by a national champion speed jumper to improve your double under scores
  • Handles Dimensions: 5" long / 1oz (each) / 0.6" diameter
  • Thin handles with foam grips allow for fine control while turning the rope (and sweating).

Usage: We recommend using this jump rope indoors, as the cable will wear out on rough surfaces. If jumping outdoors, use a jump rope mat or purchase with a 3.2mm outdoor rated cable, which will last longer on abrasive surfaces.

Pro Tip: Go with the Double Under Training Kit for savings on replacement cables or to experiment with different cable types.

*Patent Pending No. US 29/659,894

The Surge 3.0 comes standard with a kink-resistant black nylon-coated USA-made cable, which is more durable and dependable than cable made overseas (coated with poor quality material that wears out quickly).

Purchase spare cables to customize your rope.

Cable Options

3/32" Standard Cable - The rope comes standard with a 3/32" nylon coated, kink-resistant cable made in the USA. Comes in black and a variety of other colors. Not recommended for use on abrasive surfaces.

1/16" Bare Cable - 1/16" non-coated cable is used in speed and double under competitions. Very light and cuts through the air with ease. It has no coating, however, and will wear out more quickly than other cable types.

3.2mm Outdoor Heavy Cable - 3mm nylon coated cable for use outdoors on abrasive surfaces. Our toughest cable. Heavily coated in nylon to take a beating on concrete surfaces. It will eventually wear out, but will last longer than any other speed cable on the market. Comes in black only.

1.3mm Ultra Thin Cable - The thinnest, lightest cable available for a speed rope. Recommended for competitive speed jumpers only - inexperienced jumpers will struggle with this cable. Recommended for indoor use only.

4mm PVC CordThe Surge 3.0 can now accept a 4mm PVC cord, which is better than cable for crossing moves and tricks. The PVC is also heavier and slower than cable, which gives it a different feel and is popular among beginners just learning double unders.

Pro Tip: Purchase spare cables to easily swap out ropes for different uses or quickly replace worn cables.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I size my jump rope?
A: You can find our in-depth sizing guide here.

Q: How does the adjustable collar/screw work?
A: The bottom of the handle unscrews revealing a Phillips head screwdriver. Use this tool to loosen or tighten the screw in the head of the handle that secures the cable.

Q: How long should my cable last? Where can I find replacement cables?
A: The longevity of your cable will depend on the frequency of use, and the surface you’re jumping on. Fine dirt and moisture can get between strands and cause corrosion in the bare wire cables. That said, you should get a few months at the very least, and probably more. If you need to replace your cable, they can be found in the accessories section.

Love this rope!

I'm very happy with this purchase. All the necessary tools to assist in adjusting the cable are literally at your fingertips. You will need a cable cutter once you've selected the correct length. Excellent addition to my home gym.

Overpriced

I bought this expecting something that would hold up. After the first use the bottom of the handle was stripped and would become loose after a few swings. The bearing on one handle is also loose and noisy. I would not recommend or buy this again.

Beware of hidden postage

Fine experience until around a month after I purchased my rope I received a bill from Fedex on top of the postage that I had already paid. When I emailed customer service I was told sorry nothing I can do sometimes the shipping company just charges extra. The extra cost was over half of the actual rope itself!
